Dr. Powers was born and raised in northern NJ. He was a neuroscience and art double major at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA where his career in veterinary medicine began as a veterinary technician while displaced from the after effects of Hurricane Katrina. He went on to study veterinary medicine in surgery at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. He has since returned to his roots in NJ with his husband, Robert, and his cat, Tyrone. Some of his hobbies include ceramics, painting and lots of baking.
